Pre-Admission Authorization and Education

Improve safety, avoid cancellations, reduce malpractice risk

Improve patient safety by identifying patient risk factors, scheduling appropriate tests, and providing education prior to a procedure.

Our pre-admission services identify and address potential patient risk factors prior to surgery through inbound and outbound assessments. In addition to gathering a detailed patient history, our nurses can refer patients to appropriate resources or provide specific coaching that may be required prior to admission.

Implementing a consistent pre-admission process across your system helps you to improve patient safety, avoid expensive cancellations due to non-compliance, and reduce your risk for potential malpractice claims.

Collecting a complete history for each patient

During pre-admission calls, our nurses conduct patient assessments to gather demographics, current medications, known allergies, and any other information relating to your patient's procedure and/or health status.

Examples of patient assessments include:

  • Cardiovascular Assessments
  • Pulmonary Assessments
  • Neurological / Behavioral Assessments
  • Endocrine Assessments
  • Digestive / GI / Hepatic Assessments
  • Urinary / Renal Assessments
  • Hematology / Oncology Assessments
  • Rheumatology Assessments

All information captured during a health assessment can be provided as a stand alone report, sent as a custom data feed, or integrated with your EMR system.

Clarify instructions, schedule tests, and more

SironaHealth's system architecture provides customized escalation and referrals based on what it "knows" about your patient. Using information gathered during the patient assessment, our registered nurses can:

  • Help patients schedule any necessary tests or doctor appointments.
  • Provide clarification on pre-admission instructions.
  • Send follow-up educational materials in electronic or print format.
  • Conduct one-on-one clinical health coaching or triage.
